Managing Teaching and Learning

This course is about the management of teaching and learning. We begin by exploring the school as a learning organization and promoting a culture of learning and teaching, which is dedicated to constant renew al and improvement. We will also tackle the issue of context, and will look at the ways in which the physical environment of the school impacts on the quality of learning. This leads us into an exploration of the challenges of effectively planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating a curriculum that needs constantly to change and reinvent itself in line with the changing needs of a changing society. In particular, we focus on what is required to improve teaching and learning in order to produce enhanced learner outcomes. This paves the way for the identification and development of the skills and processes needed to lead and manage effective teaching and learning.

Mr. Huy Saroeun, Deputy Team Leader of World Bank project
Presently, he is working as a Deputy Team Leader position at World Bank project located at ministry of Education Youth and Sport, MoEYS and some weekends he had taught to University students.
He has had more than 28 years of professional experiences with various positions with government, NGOs, UNICEF, ADB and World Bank projects. His positions held such as State High School Teacher, Trainer, University Lecturer, Office Administrator, Project Coordinator, National Education Program Officer, Senior Project Manager, Team Leader, Presiding Officer, Deputy Team Leader, National Skills Bridging Specialist and National Education consultant.
He graduated (1) Master degree of Development and Management at Norton University in Phnom Penh (2) Bachelor degree of Art of English Literature from Cambodia University for Specialties in Phnom Penh, (3) State Secondary Teacher of Pedagogy in Kandal province and other training courses.
For oversea trainings, he graduated (1) WASH in School course, EMORY University in the United States from Jun - Dec 2011, (2) International Training Workshop on Child Friendly School Program in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Thailand from 20 Aug - 01 Sep, 2008 and (3) ABC Professional Writing Skills for Business and Administration in England from 10 Oct -18 Dec 2007.
