Strategy plays an important part in any business’s success in today's fast paced world. Galvanize your strategic thinking and make a break for professional success with an Executive Certificate in Entrepreneurship and SME Management Training . This program introduces you to the basic concepts and tools of strategic business management. We cover the overall framework within which managers make decisions. You discover different strategic tools to evaluate environmental threats and opportunities, including the industry competitive forces analysis. You learn how to identify company strengths and weaknesses and how to develop competencies. Finally, you study the strategic positioning of a company in its industry and the necessary factors responsible for strategy execution. At EDI Business Development Centre, we are leaders in the training of business management strategy.

 Course Structure


The Executive Certificate in Entrepreneurship & SME Management spent approximately 96 hours, OR is offered a 6-weekends period excluded public event speak by our successful businessmen. The course is based on a participatory, practical, active learning approach, group discussions, role play with An Action Guide from successful businessman in Cambodia. Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation upon successful completion of the course. The maximum number of participants is 15 persons only.

 How Do We Develop the Program? 


This Executive Program was developed by consulting with the successful local and international businessmen so that the knowledge’s and skills obtained from this special program can be effectively implemented in their business.

 Course Outcomes and Objectives


The objective of this program is to enable participants to practice business analysis, setting strategy, and implementing strategy and experience the importance of alignment, consistency and team work at the top of an organisation.  The program revolves around a business case of reviving a mature business with mature products. Participants develop a five year business plan based on a product strategy, a sales strategy, and a manufacturing strategy selection, training and development, talent management, compensation and payroll management, performance appraisal management, as well as HR policy and procedure writing;

  • Learn strategic and managerial skills necessary for leadership in an entrepreneurial business world
  • Understand financial management and its relationship to monitoring and evaluating your business
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the competitive forces that influence corporate success
  • Develop and practice a balanced scorecard approach to strategy management.
  • Understand effective marketing strategies to exceed customer expectations
  • Carry out sessions on using the tools back in the real business.
  • Receive one on one coaching on business strategy issues.
  • Learn key strategic development tools and models.
  • Develop a personal strategy action plan.

Mr. Pech Bolene has impressive experience in human resource management. He started his management career at a very young age as a branch manager. From 1997 to 2008, Mr. Bolene managed more than 1,000 employees for one of the biggest educational institutes at that time. Now Mr. Bolene is a very successful entrepreneur, investor, and Chief Executive Officer. He’s currently the chairman and CEO of Westline Education Group, and an investor in Education, Media, Training and Research companies. He’s also a Vice President of Young Entrepreneurs Association of Cambodia.

He was awarded as an outstanding ASEAN-CHINA young entrepreneur 2011 and recently he was appointed as local president of JCI Cambodia, Phnom Penh Chapter.

Mr. Bolene has great team building and motivational skills and an expert in staff capacity building. Both his management team and employees at WEG and other organization where he leads, are committed; self-managed and motivated to do their assignments.

Mr. Bolene has worked in the fields of management, organizational development, and human resource management for more than15 years. His areas of expertise are in strategic management, Supervisory Skills, motivation, organizational development, leading with emotional intelligence and leadership. He holds bachelor degree in Education, Master degree in Human Resource Management, and EMBA from the UK.

Mr. Ung Sophornmony is a holder of MED in management and leadership from Charles Darwin  University in Australia and MBA in Management from Norton University in Cambodia. Mr. Mony  has had more than ten-year experience in giving lectures and training on various courses  associated with management and leadership. His management career development is quite  interesting as he has advanced through different senior positions in a short period of time. He  was the managing director of a company group including hotels, international school and design  companies. He is currently the Chief Development Officer of Westline Education Group.


Mr. Phann Sopheara

Director of Human Resources at Raffles Hotel Le Royal 

He has 10-year experience of training in a management position, where he has to responsible for various functions that meet the selection criteria including consulting, coaching, recruitment, training, staff compensation and benefit, and labor office relation at Sofitel, Raffles & Naga World. Sopheara has also worked to create the Training Policy and Procedure (P&P) and revise the internal rules for Group Human Resources Department. He has also worked to put together annual training plans and various programs to address to staff members’ concerns as far as possible. In addition to this, he has communicated the new performance management system to staff at executive and supervisor level. Sopheara has also worked to ensure that HR practices in the various departments are in compliance with Corporate HR guidelines and Cambodian Labor Law. He has managed and coordinated the training courses and workshops for all staff. On top of that, he did engage external trainers or merely obtain their professionals’ opinions and tips so that he could keep up with. 


Mr. Nut Sam Art, FCCA, CIMA, CGMA

Partner, PCG & Partners Co., Ltd., with over 12 years’ experience in Finance & Accounting in both corporate and development sector.


Ms. Pich Rathmony is a specialist in Financial Management and Entrepreneurship Education. She has her Bachelor Degree in Business Economic from National University of Management and Master Degree of General Management from Charles Sturt University. In addition, she earns an acceptance to provincial certification Training of Business Edge by Mekong Private Sector Development Facility which is part of World Bank Group. Ms. Rathmony has had more than 14 years of experience in consulting and delivering business training to those concerned business owners within the country. She has conducted training to some sectors such as Trade Unions, Multi National Corporation –Garment factories, NGOs, Government agencies, and Business corporate companies. Her training expertises are Business Plan Creation, Micro Business, Entrepreneurship, Project Planning, Accounting and Financial skills. Currently, Mony is a trainer and consultant specializes in Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) for EDI in assisting clients to design strategic process, managing and reporting by business project and oversee with those projects to ensure that project members understand their jobs and are able to fulfill company’s expectation to achieve their financial goals and objectives. 


Mr. Lem Chansamrach 

Managing Director of Cambodia Investor Club 

where he manages the investment portfolio and involves in providing the capacity building and supporting the access to finance to Cambodian SMEs in order to contribute to the economic development growth. He is strongly in communication skills which he currently manages the expectation of 200 people in his business networks. Samrach has been managing and coordinating a social investment fund from Japan in Cambodia. Prior to that, he holds Master’s degree in SME Management and International business from University Lyon 2, France. He took part in training program at ACLEDA Bank Lao Ltd., where he engaged in long-term customer relationship planning. His experience also includes teaching management and finance at IIC University of Technology and Royal University of Law and Economics in Cambodia, and internship as Data Analyst for Economic and Firm Research Center in France.
