Child Development & Psychology

The Child Development & Psychology course focuses specifically on the developmental stages and psychology of children in the kindergarten age range (typically 5-6 years old). You will understand how young minds blossom in kindergarten. You will you will gain the knowledge and practical skills to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that caters to their unique needs.

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Analyze key developmental milestones in kindergarteners across physical, cognitive, social-emotional, and language domains.
  • Design and implement play-based learning activities that promote engagement and align with curriculum goals.
  • Utilize positive discipline techniques to create a well-managed classroom environment that fosters self-regulation.
  • Develop strategies to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse learning needs of kindergarten students.
  • Establish effective communication strategies for collaborating with parents and families of kindergarten students.
