MENTORING AND COACHING TECHNIQUES FOR MANAGERS

Introduction: 

 

Every organization cares about its performance and productivity. That is why various instruments/tools are introduced to and used by leader, manager and supervisor in order to maintain as well as to improve performance and productivity of the organization. Performance management is a systematic instrument/tool to steer, motivate and manage performance of individuals and organization. Coaching is one of capacity development methodologies/ approaches to enable individuals/group to achieve their performance goals and indicators. Besides, there are other important instruments, all of which contribute to maintaining, improving and managing performance and productivity of the organization.

 

Coaching is an on-going dialogue process between coach and coachees. It is a demand-oriented assistance to help individuals/group to analyze specific issues and generate solutions leading to improving both professional and/or personal performance. Every leader, manager and supervisor must have coaching skill, and be able to provide coaching directly to their team or seek for coaching service from external resource person.

 

Course Structure:

 

The certificate course in Mentoring and Coaching Techniques for Managers spent approximately 16 hours, OR is offered a 2-day period. The course is based on a participatory, active learning approach, group discussions. An Action Guide for Mentoring and Coaching Techniques for Managers, by Mr. MK. Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation upon successful completion of the course. The maximum number of participants is 20.

At the end of this informative and practical training course, the participants will be able to:

Mr. (MK) has had almost 30 - year experience in the area/field of capacity development, organizational development, project management as well as in leadership and management …. Currently, Mr. MK is a Deputy Program Manager and Senior Coordinator, where he provides coaching, mentoring and expert advice to a team of policy advisors and to the government partner agencies. During his career from 1994 - present, Mr. MK has actively involved in the designing, development and implementation of policies, regulations, instruments, strategies and methodologies to enhance/improve capacity, performance and productivity of individual and organization, esp. in public sector. The quality of his consultancies and services including coaching, mentoring and expert advice to leaders/managers are always appreciated by organizations.
